Adam Sultan

Adam Sultan’s paintings are hatch works of color and activity, bouncing between abstraction and landscape, composition and improvisation, bad taste and good. Recalling Post Impressionism, children’s drawings, and the casual abstraction of Mary Heilmann or Josh Smith, they are at once self-conscious, immersive and joyful. His canvases are painted in an elegant and striking type of scribble with soft yet energetic palettes.
