Malgosia Bajkowska

Malgosia’s new series of paintings reflect her love ad inspiration of geometric forms. The repetition and juxtaposition of identical shapes, patterns, themes and materials are the focal point in her work. Her artistic experiments are done on monochrome backgrounds to highlight the kaleidoscope of geometrical shapes – giving a light and playful feel to her paintings.

Malgosia Bajkowska (b. Poland) is a multi media artist living and working in Montreal, Canada. Her artistic approach is based on the abstract/minimalist pictorial research of basic geometrical shapes and figures – such as straight lines, squares, rectangles and circles. She works to create imperfect or irregular forms on monochrome backgrounds in order to obtain a strong and solid visual composition. Her indirect inspirations come from certain urban constructions, some contemporary design, and artists such as Molinari, Borduas, Whittome, and a few others. Bajkowska’s works are collected worldwide and can be found in several Canadian and American private collections.
