Christian Manss

CURATOR'S NOTE

Christian Manss is an artist focusing heavily on the structure and texture of his paintings. He wants his work to bring about interactions between smooth and coarse surfaces, and creates clear structures. At first sight, his paintings seem fairly uniform, but at a closer look, you begin to see layers of texture and color at play. Christians paintings are built on layers of paint and fragmented photographs, giving an unobstructed and innocent sense of isolation towards the history of places.
