Part of the artists series: automatism. Fernanda began experimenting with charcoal on paper by drawing and spreading the dust with her hands, followed by dripping water directly onto the paper. The final effects from this imaginative play and experimentation were these types of "monsters" shapes. She later re-created these final effects on canvas.
