Iftah Shavit’s incredible and unique background gives ground to his intriguing and enchanting photographs. Having served 10 years in the Israeli army, followed by his constant travels around the world to remote and unique locations, Iftah’s photographs each hold mesmerizing stories that instantly capture their viewers. You are left staring, wondering, and creating stories and interpretations of your own while looking at his photographs.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Iftah Shavit is an Israeli Photography artist, born and raised in a small town in the Negev desert. Throughout his childhood he had travelled and been fascinated by the desert while Rock climbing, Horse back riding and bike riding. When he got his first camera at the age of 13, it was a love story. At the age of 19, Iftah joined the IDF ( Israeli Defence Forces ) and made his way to the top elite Counter Terror and Special Operations Unite in the IDF. After 10 years of service as an officer, experienced paramedic, commander and high altitude instructor, Iftah started his civilian life returning back to the roots of art. He currently has full time job creating life changing experiences for groups around the world and travelling with NGO’s in his spare time to remote locations documenting and leading welfare support teams in isolated refugee camps. Iftah lives and works in Jaffa (Tel Aviv) with his two year old son and wife, travelling for expeditions around the world about six times per year.
