Jason Forcier

CURATOR'S NOTE

Inspired by natural textures and tropical colors, Jason Forcier believes that a painting cannot be created overnight. He uses layer upon layer applied and removed until the textures and colors blend seamlessly with the mistakes. Forcier uses the presence of straight lines and geometric shapes to help bring balance to his sometimes chaotic process.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

‘My artwork is the finished product of multiple textured layers of various mediums, similar to a great song with multiple sounds being mixed together. I believe multiple sessions and layers of different colors and mediums will eventually lead to an eye-pleasing finished piece. I do not believe abstract paintings need deep hidden meanings or complicated messages. I think this turns many people away from the simplicity of enjoying a well-constructed piece of art. Enjoy as you would an amazing sunset or a beautiful woman.’
